Day 1: Introduction – From Survival to Revival
“But God, being rich in mercy… made us alive together with Christ.” — Ephesians 2:4–5 (ESV)
You Were Made for More Than Survival
There comes a point in every believer’s journey when something quietly fractures beneath the surface.
You're committed, doing the "right" things—praying earnestly, serving consistently, studying diligently, faithfully showing up.
But beneath your outward rhythms, exhaustion lingers.
Not merely physical fatigue—but a deeper spiritual weariness.
You're moving through familiar motions, yet missing the fervent life that first ignited your heart. Truth lives in your mind, but the fire in your spirit has waned—no longer dancing with joy in worship or burning brightly with passionate pursuit of God's presence. You've been diligently working for God—but subtly, somewhere along the journey, you ceased walking intimately with Him.
Perhaps no one around you has noticed. But deep within, you sense it:
This isn't abundant life; it's merely survival.
The real questions then emerge—What happened? And more crucially, how do you reclaim that vibrant life in Christ?
The Diagnosis: Drifting in the Quiet
Scripture never describes humanity as merely misguided, needing slight course corrections. It speaks far more starkly:
“You were dead in your trespasses and sins…” (Ephesians 2:1, ESV)
Your struggle isn't always overt rebellion; more often, it's quietly subtle—like gradually prioritizing busyness over intimacy with God, or finding comfort in routine rather than in His presence.
We drift slowly, imperceptibly. We pretend convincingly, putting on spiritual masks. We tirelessly strive, carrying burdens that grace alone was meant to lift.
And quietly, internally, we wonder:
“Where is the life Jesus promised?”
The Breakthrough: But God…
Into our weariness and drift enters grace. Into our striving and self-reliance pours mercy. The Gospel emerges—not as doctrine alone, but as deliverance:
“But God, being rich in mercy…” (Ephesians 2:4)
It isn’t "But effort," nor "But improved discipline. "It is simply and profoundly—But God.
This journey marks that intersection: Where our death encounters divine mercy. Where our striving surrenders wholly to His grace. Where dry bones regain breath through the Spirit’s whisper of resurrection.
This is what it means, truly, to be ALIVE.
The Journey Ahead: A Roadmap Back to Life
Over these next seven days, you’ll trace your personal resurrection narrative—perhaps closely mirroring your own life:
Each day's devotional will gently guide you with:
From Tired to Alive – Exposing the depths of spiritual exhaustion (Ephesians 2:1–5).
When Good Isn’t Enough – Exchanging moralistic striving for authentic transformation (2 Corinthians 5:17).
The Drift Is Real – Acknowledging and addressing spiritual disconnection (Hebrews 2:1).
But God… – The profound turning point where mercy interrupts our striving (Ephesians 2:4).
Breathe Again – Embracing life energized by the Spirit rather than mere performance (Romans 8:11).
You Don’t Have to Pretend – Casting aside shame and superficial masks (Isaiah 1:18, Matthew 11:28).
This Is Resurrection Life – Living the risen life daily, in vibrant communion with Christ (Colossians 3:1–4).
The Invitation: Resurrection Life
This isn't about self-improvement strategies or disciplined behavior management. It is fundamentally about resurrection—the core heartbeat of the Christian faith.
Whether you find yourself weary, dry, quietly drifting, or simply craving deeper connection, this invitation is yours:
Come alive again. Breathe fresh grace. Allow Christ’s resurrection power to revitalize every buried hope within.
Jesus didn't come merely to enhance your life. He came to resurrect it.
Are you ready?
